Metal Spiral Slippery Fire Escape - Water Authority - Bradford
The step treads to this unusual spiral metal slippery fire escape at a large water authority call centre were extremely slippery when wet. The chequer plate surface to each step provided no additional increase in wet slip resistance. The yellow & black nosing’s to the edge of each step did provide some slip resistance
The step treads were first rotary cleaned to remove all surface contamination and to key the surface. Masking tape was then applied and each step was treated with a liquid applied anti-slip resin in a grey. The anti-slip resin in combination with the nosing dramatically improved the safety and wet slip resistance of the steps.
